Mr. Ruchang Wang, who used to work at the tea improvement field of Yuchi Township, has great enthusiasm for making tea. In July 1957, while Ruchang was picking tea with his wife at Maotong Mountain in the afternoon, a sudden heavy rain trapped them. The two were forced to take risk to cross the valley under the terrible weather, and things went even worse that they were swept away by the flood water. Fortunately, as if by the will of God, the couple was able to get out of the disaster and return home smoothly. That night, Mr. Wang dreamed of the late Japanese Xin Jing Geng Jilang (the father of Sun Moon Lake Black Tea), who encouraged him to continue cultivating the black tea here. Inspired by this, Mr. Wang upheld the passion for making tea, and a big dream sprouted in his heart.

To chase after his dream, Ruchang had struggled for more than 30 years. Step by step, he slowly expanded the land from a small field to a hill, and gradually established a large-scale tea factory from the barren wilderness. Starting from nothing, Mr. Wang became the chairman of the “Smell of Taiwan Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Factory”. Today, with passion and devotion, we and the old chairman are still looking forward to letting the flavor and sentiment of Sun Moon Lake black tea spread to every corner!
