Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village is a large-scale leisure and recreation area consisting of three main parts: the European Garden, Amusement World, and the Aboriginal Scenic Area. The amusement facilities include the highest free-fall ride in Southeast Asia. The ropeway connecting the park and Sun Moon Lake allows you to overlook the scenic views of Central Taiwan's mountains and lakes, which has drawn significant attention in recent years.

In addition, the romantic and beautiful European Garden boasts exquisite views comparable to international landmarks. The rich indigenous culture is also a key feature of the village. "Leisurely" European Courtly Dance. The Ritz European Garden covers about six hectares. Its vast royal elegance showcases European palace garden style. It is the largest European-style garden in Taiwan and a filming location for many Taiwanese idol dramas. Baroque music rises with the Roman fountain's water dance. In this romantic European garden, you can take a small train, enjoy the breeze, and leisurely admire the garden's grandeur, or stroll past the fountains and bell tower to the majestic Ritz Palace Restaurant for a sumptuous lunch.

░ Sun Moon Lake Ropeway

Taiwan's first light-capacity aerial ropeway system, 40 meters above the ground. The cabins are bright and spacious with a gentle breeze. Besides giving you a bird's-eye view of the entire park, it connects to the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway. With a total length of 1.877 kilometers, it allows you to see the lake and mountain scenery of Sun Moon Lake and the forest beauty of the village in just 7 minutes.

The Aboriginal Village area features various authentic cultural displays and parent-child DIY activities, along with a performance theater showcasing indigenous dance skills, allowing visitors to experience the life of various Taiwanese tribes at once.

Enjoy the lake and mountain scenery of Sun Moon Lake throughout the journey, accompanied by the captain's warm service and live guided commentary. Along the way, you can see the Lalu Hotel, Sun Moon Lake Hotel, Lalu Island, Ci'en Pagoda, Xuanzang Temple, Xuanguang Temple, floating boathouses, four-handed dip nets, the ropeway station, the water outlet, and Wenwu Temple.

  • For more information, please read the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village Park Regulations.
  • All tickets provide "all-you-can-play" access. Except for catering and items marked with a fee, all amusement facilities are free to ride.
  • No credit card services are provided for on-site consumption, except for the National Travel Card.
  • Riding amusement facilities is subject to height restrictions or the requirement of adult accompaniment. Please refer to the chart below for regulations.

｜Sun Moon Lake Ropeway

  • Operating hours may be extended for major events (such as the Cherry Blossom Festival). Operating hours may also be adjusted due to weather conditions, power outages, or system maintenance.
  • The first Wednesday of every month is the maintenance day for the ropeway and is closed to the public. If there is a need for annual major maintenance, additional closure dates will be announced. 【Click here to view】

｜Sun Moon Lake Sightseeing Boat Regulations

  1. The physical ticket is a non-registered valuable voucher. Please keep it safe after redemption. If lost, burned, damaged, or expired, it will not be reissued or replaced.
  2. For safety reasons, the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration will announce a suspension of navigation in the event of thick fog, typhoons (when the Nantou County Government announces a suspension of work and classes), or poor weather conditions.
  3. If voyages are delayed due to force majeure such as weather, no refund or compensation may be requested.
  4. Bicycles can be brought on board for a cleaning fee of NT$100 per bike. However, due to different boat models, not all boats can carry them. Please inquire with staff in advance.

  • Each product can be used only once.
  • The package has a 14-day validity period. All products must be used within 14 days (including the day of first use) after the first product is activated. Example: If the first product is activated on January 1, 2026, the final expiration date for all products is January 14, 2026.
  • The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway must be used on the day of park entry.
  • The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway is a complimentary item; Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village reserves the right to terminate this offer. If the ropeway is temporarily suspended for any reason, no compensation or refunds will be provided.
  • Group Ticket: For groups of 20 or more traveling by coach (please make a reservation by phone at least one day in advance). Different group tickets apply based on the conditions in the table above.
  • Free admission for children under three years old or under 100 cm in height; proof of age and accompaniment by a parent are required for entry. (According to Tourism Administration regulations, the ratio of caregivers to children under 3 should be 1:3; for children with special needs, a legal representative or volunteer must provide 1:1 care).
  • Parking cleaning fee is required separately: NT$30 for motorcycles, NT$150 for large and small vehicles.
  • The parking cleaning fee is for site cleaning and maintenance. We assume no responsibility for the safekeeping of vehicles, their accessories, or items inside the vehicles. Please do not leave valuables in your car. We apologize for any inconvenience.
  • In the event of force majeure (including but not limited to natural disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, and heavy rain), the organizer may postpone or cancel the activity for public safety, with prior notice and contact. The organizer reserves the right to modify, terminate, or change the details of the activity.
