Walking 2,000 steps on this observation trail at an altitude of 1,700 meters is an entirely different and enchanting experience.
The dozens of hectares of green grass at Cingjing Farm's Green Green Grasslands feed hundreds of sheep and cattle. The deep valleys, carved by the snowmelt from Hehuan Mountain and Qilai Mountain, flow with clear streams that nourish Sun Moon Lake. The highest northern section of the Central Mountain Range—including Qilai North Peak, Qilai Main Peak, Mount Nanhua, Mount Nenggao, Mount Andongjun, and the Hehuan peaks—forms a high wall like a ribbon. This delays the morning light, traps the early morning mist, and turns the cloud waterfalls crossing over from Hualien into a sea of clouds in the Zhuoshui River valley. These landscapes enrich the style of the Cingjing Skywalk and cultivate its irreplaceable characteristics.
The Cingjing Skywalk sits at an altitude of about 1,700 to 2,000 meters. It is 1.6 kilometers long and 2.5 meters wide, connecting the old trail starting from the Cingjing Guest House to the Green Green Grasslands Story House. Designed to be friendly to the natural environment and landscape, the trail uses a hidden elevated design that leaves the roads, crosses the grasslands, and weaves through the treetops. Travelers can hike safely while enjoying the sight of sheep grazing on the green grass and wild birds hopping in the canopy. Multiple observation platforms are set up along the way, allowing visitors to stop, enjoy the cool breeze, and overlook the Central Mountain Range, the Zhuoshui River valley, and the brilliantly clear blue sky.
